THE STORY OF AAVA MALACCA HOTEL
In the heart of historic Malacca, three adjoining pre-war shophouses form Aava Malacca, a boutique hotel combining the best of old and new. Conceived in the 1800s and rescued from ruins by its present owner – notable property developer TA Global – the property officially opened its doors on 21 January 2018 as a unique 15-room stay.
Having been thoughtfully restored to its former glory, the hotel still retains the charms and quirks of Straits eclectic architecture – a style once prevalent among the elite Peranakan families and now proves a fetching backdrop for photography. Within, antique floor tiles, ornate wooden fittings and furnishing reminiscent of the colonial era take centre stage, exuding an authenticity and character that are hard to duplicate. In addition to its flawless mix of traditional touches with modern comforts, the staff speaks the language of hospitality and will go out of their way to make any guest's stay memorable.
A property that transcends its role as a mere hotel, Aava Malacca is a part of TA Global’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The revenue earned from the hotel operations will be channelled to selected NGOs and charity organisations, and subsequently be used to fund medical, educational and other charitable activities.
